Pattern on pattern...

Shortly after Fashion Week Trendland showcased several look books that were very cool, but this one was by far my favorite. Twenty Seven Names is the brand...here is the link: http://www.twentysevennames.co.nz/client/. Pretty Nice.

Inspiring Wallpaper

I love this scrapwood wallpaper - and these particular colors are making me happy today. See more at : http://usa.scrapwoodwallpaper.com/.

Fixing the sweater!

What a simple and brilliant idea! A product designer named Heleen Klopper recommends using the needle felting technique to mend your wool sweaters...of course!! Here is a link to her site - www.woolfiller.com/wolplamuur.nl/wie.php?lg=en&.

Ahhh - I can't wait until it is cool enough to wear a sweater.

Summer Time...

After a wonderful three week vacation, it is back to reality and back to the hot Texas summer. Ice cream definitely helps to get us through the 100 degree days! These knitted treats by Ed Bing Lee have a few less calories...

Gallery Black Lagoon Show

This Saturday is the opening of the Austin Series show at the Gallery Black Lagoon and I am one of the featured artist. I hope some of you can stop by and have a look at some of my new work that will be on view...here is a taste:
These are two new digital monoprints in my Garden Cactus series. For these pieces I start with a pen drawing and/or watercolor, then I scan the image and add color and pattern digitally, then I print them out on my ink jet onto archival artist paper and continue to add details using various mediums. The process creates vivid, complex images that are one of kind pieces. Let me know what you think if you stop by.

After the Fair

The Renegade fair was such fun - I am very glad I got it together and did it! Great people and quality stuff. I managed not to spend all of my earnings on other peoples work, but there were some real tempting booths. One of my favorites was Lisa Chow:I almost bought the print above called "It's Sprinkling" - so sweet (you can see more at http://www.apt3305.com/). I ended up only buying one awesome beet print from my wonderful booth neighbor Empire Press; check them out at http://www.empirepresstx.com/.

Oh also, I was interviewed for a community arts segment of the local public television station KLRU - check it out! www.klru.org/collective. It is the inspiration segment.
